How to Get Insurance Credits

Contact your Insurance Agent. Tell your Agent that you wish to apply for Wind Storm Mitigation Credits for your Homeowner's Insurance Policy and request a Wind Mitigation Certification Form.   Ask your Agent about the savings you could expect depending on the mitigation features of you house  All Insurance Companies are required by Florida Law make these credits available to their customers.  The Insurance Companies require that the Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form be completed and signed by an Architect, or a Structural Engineer, or a Florida Certified General Contractor or a State Registered My Safe Florida Home Inspector.

I am a Florida Certified General Contractor and have been performing Home, Bank, and Insurance Inspections on the Treasure Coast for the past 9 years.  I charge $100 to perform the Inspection and Certification, and that is the average going rate for our area.  You'll most likely save 3 to 10 times that amount, each year, for up to 5 years before you'll need re-certification.
